Bone Densitometry is more like an X Ray test that accurately measures the density of the bone and check the bone mineral.  The test is very useful to measure the amount of loss of bone.

Bone Densitometry is primarily used to diagnose osteoporosis or osteopenia and to ascertain the risk of fractures due to osteoporosis.

Patient Instruction for Bone Densitometry at Santosh Diagnostic Centre

  • Regular food and medicine routine can be followed.
  • Refrain from taking calcium 24 hours before the bone densitometry test
  • Do not wear or carry metal objects, jewellery, eyeglasses, accessories of any kind to the scan room
